Quotation II

Simplicity is natures first step, and the last of art. - Pahillip James Bailey

Purpose.

Wake up, brush your teeth, go to work, spend 9 hours doing probably something you don’t like, get back home, eat, sleep. Repeat.

In the between of what we call routine, we try to create an alternative life, from what our society has programmed us to do. We try to relax, but only to fall in the grips of TV and social media. We try to have a walk, but the car it’s much more comfortable when is 5ºC outside.

We look at this painting every single day through our mesmerized face in the mirror, and more than once, we wish that today could be the last day. For some it is. You wake up, and hear that Mr. J. was gone at the age of 34. You see that Ms. M, died at 54. And you see yourself dying second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour. You see “your” Routine taking your vital energy from you; sucking all the energy from you. And, you accept it.

Honor those brave souls who kicked out the death grips of Routine, those who depart early, eager to live, without knowing that they were the ones who were really living a a real life.

Is Life art?

If art is creation, then Life is art, and the Universe its creator.

Quotation I

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practise resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms.”Henry David Thoreau, Walden: Or, Life in the Woods
